This is also known as the editing phase! Some of our clients ONLY need editing done, and that’s okay! We can electronically send you versions of the video as it gets edited, giving you the opportunity to provide feedback on any spot in the video without you having to spend hours in the edit suite. After all, you’ve got better things to do! We’ll provide any version of the finished video you need: whether it’s formatted for social media, a big screen, or website delivery. Sorry, we no longer deliver on VHS tapes. And we’ve got alternatives to DVDs, if you really need a thing to hold onto. ????

What to expect
How it works
The process takes a minimum of three days, but usually an average of 10 days. It might stretch out based on how long it takes our clients to review versions and provide feedback.

Send us your files
Editing begins once all of the elements have been recorded and gathered. We organize the footage, still photos, graphics, music, narration, etc. in a manner appropriate to the project.

First draft
You'll receive the first draft to review. This draft won't have music or transitions, just a straight version of the narration and basic elements of the script. This gives you the chance to request changes and give feedback early in the process.

Second draft
You'll get the second draft for review and feedback. This draft has music, transitions and any edits requested from the first draft.

Final video
We'll incorporate requested edits and changes from the second draft to create the polished, final video!

Receive files
We format the video for various platforms or file types. We rename those files for the intended usage/platform, and deliver the files via Dropbox, or whatever preferred method you have - easy!

Quick answers to common questions folks like you ask about Post-Production
Can you edit stuff I shot on my phone?
Probably. You’ll need to get it off of your phone, into a cloud service, like Dropbox or Google Drive, and then we can access it in its original resolution.
Can you help with whiteboard animation?
Yes! We have a partner that we work with that specializes in that work.
How much does it cost to edit a video?
Good question! Our first question is how long do you expect the finished video to be? A rule of thumb is one hour of editing, per minute of finished video. However, if there are a lot of effects and transitions, that number doubles, at a minimum. We also include revision time in our estimates, which is about ⅓ more time than what the base video editing took. So if we estimate 5 hours for the base video, we’ll add 2-3 more hours for revisions. Our rate for editing is $95 per hour.
Can you help YouTube content creators or podcasters with their video editing?
Yes! If you’re a regular content creator, talk to us about your show and how much editing you think it takes each month. We can likely give you reduced pricing for monthly, regular work from us.
Do I have to sit with you while you edit?
No, we have a great process that works for most of our clients, where we send them versions, they can make comments at the exact spots where they have concerns, and we make the changes. However, sometimes, it’s easier for our clients to just come in to talk through what they’re looking for, and we will accommodate that as needed.
