About Sharon

sharonI’ve been interested in television since I was 15 years old. Television and video have given me wonderful opportunities — getting to see things that most people don’t have a chance to see. I love the challenges and the excitement of doing something different everyday.

My first job in the video industry after graduating with a degree in Television Production from Radford University was as a production assistant at a local cable company. We videotaped sports events, concerts, parades, studio programs, debates, and city meetings.

Within five months, I found myself promoted to Programming Manager. As time went on, I realized that I missed the hands-on experiences of the production world. I decided to see what other challenges were out there.

After four months at a news station, I found a job as an associate producer for the Fairfax County Public Schools. Through electronic field trips, documentaries, a news program, and other types of educational and public relations programming, I strengthened and enriched my writing, editing, lighting, producing, and videography skills. I then spent a year as a production/office manager for a small production company managing production budgets, doing bookkeeping, and hiring freelancers.

During this time, I laid the foundation for my own freelance company. The skills and contacts I’ve acquired through my past experiences have been put to good use at Picture This Video as both freelancer and producer.

If you have a clear vision, I’ll do everything I can to bring your dreams to fruition. If I can’t do it, I can find someone who can. You picture it — we’ll do the rest!
